Managing chronic pain and stress

Problem:

Anette, 48, a dentist and mother of two, suffered from headaches and severe migraines since age 12. Her headaches became more frequent and increasingly worse over the years – so much so that she was relying on various prescriptions just to get through the day. She was seeing a neurologist and was a member of a headache support group. A multitude of visits to physicians and specialists accompanied by a plethora of medical tests did nothing to uncover the cause of her headaches nor did it result in any significant relief. Annette experienced depression, moodiness and several other adverse symptoms resulted from trying various treatment options and experiments. Experiencing 10 to 15 headaches each month, most of which lasted a few days was frustrating and miserable.

Solution:

Almost resigned to living with headaches for the rest of her life, Annette visited Sugi Health and Fitness. In a thorough conversation with a Sugi professional, Annette carefully explained her symptoms, her medical history and surrounding life circumstances. The Sugi professional was able to help Annette identify her stressors and whether they were a result of her physical activity, emotional responses or both. With that knowledge, Annette learned how to respond differently to circumstances and control the negative affects her stressors were having on her body.

Result:

It wasn’t long before Annette began to feel the affects of the new stress reduction and relaxation treatments and skills she learned at Sugi Health and Fitness. Today she gets only one to three headaches each month and takes one prescription tablet instead of an entire bottle to cope with her headaches. With continued sessions and continual practice of her new skills, she believes her headaches will be rare occasions in the future.
